STATEMENT BY THE VICE PRESIDENT

Tipper and I extend a heartfelt thanks to members of the Lane College Concert Choir who sang at a memorial service today for Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown, federal government officials, military personnel and business leaders who lost their lives serving their country and promoting peace in Bosnia.

Their music helped express the sorrow and disbelief the nation feels over this tragedy. It comforted those who knew and worked with these individuals, and helped them to begin the long healing process.
