PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES DENNIS P. WALSH AS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL
LABOR RELATIONS BOARD
President Clinton today announced the recess appointment of Dennis P. Walsh as a member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Mr. Walsh was nominated to the Senate on October 17, 2000.
Mr. Dennis P. Walsh, of Olney, Maryland, presently serves as Chief Counsel to Wilma B. Liebman, member of the NLRB. Previously, he served as Chief Counsel to NLRB member Margaret A. Browning. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Walsh served as an associate in the firm of Spear, Wilderman, Borish, Endy, Browning & Spear in Philadelphia.
Mr. Walsh received a B.A. in Government from Hamilton College and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
NLRB is an independent agency that administers the National Labor Relations Act, the nation's principal labor law. The Board is vested with the power to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions and to safeguard employees' rights to organize and determine, whether to have unions as their bargaining representative.
