PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES DENNIS P. WALSH AS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL
LABOR RELATIONS BOARD
The President today announced the nomination of Dennis P. Walsh to serve as a Member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
Mr. Dennis P. Walsh, of Maryland, presently serves as Chief Counsel to Wilma B. Liebman, member of the National Labor Relations Board. Previously, he served as Chief Counsel to the late NLRB member Margaret A. Browning. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Walsh served as an associate in the firm of Spear, Wilderman, Borish, Endy, Browning & Spear in Philadelphia.
Mr. Walsh received a B.A. in Government from Hamilton College and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
The National Labor Relations Board is an independent agency which administers the nation's principal labor law, the National Labor Relations Act. The Board is vested with the power to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions and to safeguard employees' rights to organize and determine, through secret ballot elections, whether to have unions as their bargaining representatives.
