PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES FRANCES M. VISCO TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE PRESIDENT'S CANCER PANEL
The President today announced his intent to reappoint Frances M. Visco to the President's Cancer Panel.
Ms. Frances M. Visco, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has served as a member of the President's Cancer Panel since 1993. Ms. Visco is the President and a member of the Board of Directors for the National Breast Cancer Coalition and the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, a Washington, D.C.-based grassroots advocacy coalition of more than 500 organizations. She is a former partner at the Philadelphia law firm of Cohen, Shapiro, Polisher, Sheikman and Cohen, where she was active in commercial litigation. Ms. Visco is a thirteen-year breast cancer survivor.
Ms. Visco received a B.A. degree from St. Joseph's University and a J.D. degree from Villanova University.
The President's Cancer Panel monitors the development and execution of the activities of the National Cancer Program, and reports directly to the President. The Panel consists of three members appointed by the President for terms of three years.
