           PRESIDENT CLINTON NOMINATES CHRISTINE M. ARGUELLO
                          TO THE FEDERAL BENCH

     The President today nominated Christine M. Arguello to the U.S.

Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Christine M. Arguello, of Westminster, Colorado, has been a Deputy Attorney General with the Colorado Attorney General's Office since 1999. Prior to assuming her current position, Arguello served on the faculty of the University of Kansas School of Law as a full professor (1998-1999) and associate professor (1991-1998). Arguello also worked at the law firm of Holland & Hart as a partner (1988-1991) and senior associate (1985-1988). She began her legal career as an associate with the law firm of Valdes-Fauli, Cobb & Petry (1980-1985). Arguello received her B.S. degree from the University of Colorado in 1977 and her J.D. degree from Harvard Law School in 1980.
