               PRESIDENT CLINTON NOMINATES ROGER L. GREGORY
                            TO THE FEDERAL BENCH

     The President today nominated Roger L. Gregory to the U.S. Court

of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Roger L. Gregory, of Richmond, Virginia, was a founding member of the law firm of Wilder & Gregory in 1982, and has served as the firm's managing partner and chairman of its litigation section since 1985. Prior to joining Wilder & Gregory, Gregory worked as an associate with the law firms of Hunton & Williams (1980-1982) and Butzel, Long, Gust, Klien & Van Zile (1978-1980). Gregory also served as an adjunct professor at Virginia State University (1981-1985). He received his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Virginia State University in 1975 and his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan in 1978.
