     PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES MARILYNN M. PORTER AS A MEMBER OF THE
       ARCHITECTURAL AND TRANSPORTATION BARRIERS COMPLIANCE BOARD

     The President today announced his intent to appoint Marilynn M.

Porter to serve as a member of the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (Access Board).

Ms. Marilynn M. Porter, of Little Rock, Arkansas, works as a designer on compliance with A.D.A. standards with various real estate developers. She is currently a Marketing and Sales Consultant for the Taylor Development Company. Previously, Ms. Porter has been the Director of Business Development for the Dempsey Film Group, and the Physician Marketing Director of Practice Technology, Inc. Ms. Porter has been involved with the Arkansas Easter Seals Chapter for over fifteen years, has served as a member of the Board of the Arkansas Arts Center, and on the Board of the Arkansas Community Foundation (ACF). She was also Statewide Director of Local Divisions for ACF. Ms. Porter received her B.S. from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

The Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (Access Board) is an independent federal agency with a governing board of 25 members. The Access Board establishes minimum guidelines for accessibility under the Architectural Barriers Act of 1968, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Telecommunications Act of 1996. The Board also provides technical assistance on architectural, transportation, and communications access.
