STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

The President is pleased that Senator Howard Baker and Congressman Lee Hamilton have agreed to conduct a review regarding missing data at Los Alamos. He expects their efforts to be thorough, expeditious and conducted in a manner that does not interfere with the FBI's investigation of this very serious matter. The President looks forward to Senator Baker and Congressman Hamilton's report and any recommendations they may make regarding corrective measures to further strengthen security procedures at Los Alamos.
