               PRESIDENT CLINTON NOMINATES JOHN SOO WAN LIM,
               JAMES S. MOODY, JR., AND GREGORY A. PRESNELL
                           TO THE FEDERAL BENCH

     The President today nominated John Soo Wan Lim to the U.S. District

Court for the District of Hawaii, James S. Moody, Jr., to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and Gregory A. Presnell to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

John Soo Wan Lim, of Honolulu, Hawaii, has been an Associate Judge on the Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals since 1999. Prior to joining the Intermediate Court of Appeals, Lim was a judge on the Hawaii Circuit Court (1995-1999) and the First Circuit Family Court (1993-1995). He also worked as a solo practitioner (1987-1993), and was a Financing Associate and General Counsel for the Hawaii Economic Development Corporation (1986-1987). In addition, Lim served as Project Director for Hawaii Lawyers Care (1985-1986). He began his legal career as an associate at Carlsmith, Carlsmith, Wichman & Case (1983-1985). Lim received his B.A. degree from Harvard College in 1980 and his J.D. degree from Stanford Law School in 1983.

James S. Moody, Jr., of Plant City, Florida, has been a circuit court judge on the 13th Judicial Circuit of Florida since 1995. Prior to assuming the state bench, Moody was a shareholder at Trinkle, Redman, Moody, Swanson & Byrd, P.A. (1972-1994). Moody received his B.S. degree, with high honors, from the University of Florida in 1969 and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Florida School of Law in 1972.

Gregory A. Presnell, of Windermere, Florida, has been a shareholder at Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson since 1971, and was an associate with the firm from 1966 to 1970. He received his B.A. degree from the College of William & Mary in 1964 and his J.D. degree, with high honors, from the University of Florida School of Law in 1966.
