              RESIDENT CLINTON NAMES JAMES A. DALEY AS
               U. S. AMBASSADOR TO BARBADOS, SAINT LUCIA
                        AND SAINT KITTS & NEVIS

     The President today announced his intent to nominate James A. Daley 

to be U.S. Ambassador to Barbados, Saint Lucia and Saint Kitts & Nevis.

Mr. James A. Daley, of Tequesta, Florida, has held senior management positions in corporations, served as a director on numerous boards and participated in the leadership and operations of many public and civic organizations. He has worked in the tourism industry, having acquired and managed three major hotels in Boston. From 1993 to 1999, Mr. Daley served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. For nearly twenty years he served as chief executive officer, and owner and developer for long term care facilities. In this capacity, he purchased, renovated, and operated nursing home facilities throughout Massachusetts. Mr. Daley currently as serves a member of the Board of LoJack Corporation.

Mr. Daley has served on the boards of many public and civic organizations, including the Greater Boston Convention Center and Visitors Bureau, the Overseers of Northeastern University, the Boston Ballet, the USS Constitution Museum and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. He also participated in the work of the Good Samaritan Hospice, the Boston Theatre District Association, the National Kidney Foundation and the Carroll Center for the Blind.

Mr. Daley was honored in 1994 as one of the top 100 Irish Americans by the Irish American Magazine and the Irish Tourism Board and was selected as the Man of the Year for 1990 by the Greater Boston Association of Retarded Citizens.
