PRESIDENT CLINTON NOMINATES STEPHEN M. ORLOFSKY TO THE FEDERAL BENCH The President today nominated Stephen M. Orlofsky to the U.S. Court
of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Stephen M. Orlofsky, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, has been a judge on the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey since 1996. Prior to assuming the federal bench, Orlofsky worked for the law firm of Blank, Rome, Comisky & McCauley as a partner (1987-1996) and as an associate (1980-1987). Orlofsky also served as the first United States Magistrate Judge for the Camden Vicinage of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey (1976-1980). He received his B.A. degree from the City College of New York in 1971 and his J.D. degree, with honors, from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden in 1974. Following law school, Orlofsky clerked for Chief Judge Mitchell H. Cohen of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey (1974-1976).
