PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES RICHARD N. BROWN AS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL

PARTNERSHIP COUNCIL

The President today announced his intent to appoint Richard N. Brown as a Member of the National Partnership Council.

Mr. Richard N. Brown, of Schenectady, New York, has served as President and Directing Business Representative of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE), Federal District 1-IAMAW, AFL-CIO since November 1, 1998. Previously, he was Vice President of NFFE; Vice President of the NFFE Army Material Command Council; and President of NFFE Local 2109 at the Watervliet Arsenal in New York. In addition, Mr. Brown chaired the NFFE national policy, service and budget committees and is the trustee for NFFE's building asset. He is a member of the National Planning Committee for the Machinists Non-partisan Political League, of the Defense Partnership Council, and of the Employee Thrift Advisory Council. Mr. Brown currently serves as the Vice President of the Federal Employees Education and Assistance Fund.

Mr. Brown is a graduate of Hudson Valley College in Troy, New York.

The National Partnership Council, established by executive order on October 1, 1993, is charged with advising the President on matters involving labor-management relations in the executive branch and in promoting labor-management partnerships to deliver the highest quality services to the American people.
