PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES JEROME A. STRICKER TO SERVE AS MEMBER OF THE

ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE PENSION BENEFIT GUARANTY CORPORATION

The President today announced his intent to appoint Jerome A. Stricker to serve as member of the Advisory Committee to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).

Mr. Jerome A. Stricker, of Covington, Kentucky, has had a long career with Gradison and Company, in Cincinnati, Ohio, as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Stricker held numerous positions at Gradison and Company, including Vice Chairman of the Board and President of Gradison Cash Reserves Trust, and Vice Chairman of the Gradison U.S. Government Trust. Mr. Stricker is a former Chairman of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Mr. Stricker is currently a city commissioner of Covington, Kentucky.

Mr. Stricker received a B.S. degree from the University of Kentucky.

The PBGC advises the Corporation on its policies and procedures relating to the appointment of trustees in termination proceedings, the investment of monies, schedules for the liquidation of terminated pension plans and such other issues as the Corporation may periodically request. The PBGC focuses primarily upon the Corporation's investments, regulations, insurance program and the defined benefit pension system.
