STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

President Clinton will travel to Tokyo and Okinawa, Japan in July, to attend the G8 Leaders Meeting hosted by Japan.

In Tokyo, the President will attend a dinner hosted by the Emperor of Japan for G8 Leaders. On July 21, the President will travel to Okinawa, Japan to participate in the G8 Leaders Meetings. The President looks forward to meeting the people of Okinawa and expressing his appreciation for their significant contribution to the security of Asia by hosting U.S. Forces.
