                    STATEMENT BY THE VICE PRESIDENT
                      ON VICTIMS' RIGHTS AMENDMENT

On behalf of the Administration, I want to express our appreciation for the good faith effort on all sides in trying to reach an agreement on a Victims' Rights Amendment. I want to reiterate our strong commitment to continue to work towards passage of a constitutional amendment that will ensure that victims' rights are fully considered in the criminal justice process. We look forward to working closely with Senators Feinstein and Kyl in the future to pass a balanced Victims' Rights Amendment.
