PRESIDENT CLINTON NOMINATES JOHNNIE B. RAWLINSON TO THE FEDERAL BENCH
The President today nominated Johnnie B. Rawlinson to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Johnnie B. Rawlinson, of Las Vegas, Nevada, has been a United States District Judge for the District of Nevada since 1998. Prior to her service with the federal district court, Rawlinson spent eighteen years with the Office of the District Attorney, first as a Deputy District Attorney from 1980 to 1989; then as a Chief Deputy District Attorney from 1989 to 1995; and finally as an Assistant District Attorney from 1995 to 1998. She received her B.S. degree, summa cum laude, from North Carolina A&T State University in 1974, and her J.D. degree, with distinction, from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 1979.
