PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES HAIM SABAN AS A MEMBER OF THE PRESIDENT'S

EXPORT COUNCIL

The President today announced his intent to appoint Haim Saban as a member of the President's Export Council.

Mr. Haim Saban, of Beverly Hills, California, is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Family World Wide, Inc. In 1996, Saban Entertainment and Fox Kids Network merged to create Fox Kids Worldwide, Inc. In 1997, Fox Kids Worldwide acquired International Family Entertainment, whose principal asset, The Family Channel, reaches more than 72 million households.

The President's Export Council is the premier national advisory committee on international trade. It was established by Executive Order of the President in 1973. The Council's purpose is to advise the President on matters related to export performance and to encourage export expansion. The Council also provides a forum for resolving trade-related problems among business, industrial, agricultural, labor and government sectors. The Department of Commerce provides administrative support to the Council through the International Trade Administration.
