PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES V. MANUEL ROCHA AS U.S. AMBASSADOR TO BOLIVIA

The President announced today his intent to nominate V. Manuel Rocha to be U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Bolivia.

Mr. V. Manuel Rocha, a resident of California, is a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Counselor. His varied professional experience includes assignments in the Dominican Republic, Italy, Honduras, Mexico, Cuba and Argentina. Besides working at the State Department in various capacities, he has also served on the staff of the National Security Council at the White House.

Mr. Rocha received an undergraduate degree from Yale University, and also earned a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Masters in International Relations from Georgetown University. His languages are Spanish and Italian.
