Tipper Gore, wife of Vice President Al Gore, will undergo surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland today for further evaluation of a thyroid nodule. The nodule was discovered during a follow-up examination for an exercise related injury. The surgery was recommended as a precautionary measure. The Vice President accompanied Mrs. Gore to the hospital and will remain there with her overnight. Mrs. Gore is expected to be released tomorrow.
