As our calendars turn over to the year 2000, let us all give thanks for the blessings of this past year -- and let us look forward to the incredible promise of the new millennium.

I believe in my heart that the next century can be a time when we build on the progress we've made together -- where we unlock the potential of every American, and make sure that no one is left behind.

Tipper and I wish you a very happy New Year. May all your dreams come true in the year 2000.
