PRESIDENT CLINTON DECLARES AN EMERGENCY EXISTS IN THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS
The President today declared an emergency exists in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and ordered Federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by a fire beginning on December 3, 1999, and continuing.
The President's action authorizes FEMA to provide emergency protective measures (Category B) under the Public Assistance Program. Specifically, FEMA is authorized to provide for the activation and deployment of search and rescue teams in Worcester County.
