PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES THREE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE JAMES
MADISON MEMORIAL FELLOWSHIP FOUNDATION
The President today announced his intent to reappoint United States Senators Edward M. Kennedy and Orrin Hatch and U.S. Circuit Court Judge Morris "Buzz" Arnold as Members of the Board of Trustees of the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation.
Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-Massachusetts) was elected to the United States Senate in 1962 and has served as a member of the board of trustees of the James Madison Fellowship Foundation since December 1992.
Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) was elected to the United States Senate in 1976 and has served as a member of the board of trustees of the James Madison Fellowship Foundation since December 1992.
Judge Arnold, of Little Rock, Arkansas, was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in May, 1992, and has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Madison Foundation since September, 1995.
The mission of the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation is to strengthen secondary school teaching of the principles, framing, and development of the U.S. Constitution. The Foundation works to contribute to a deeper understanding of American government and to foster in both teachers and students the spirit of civic participation that inspired the nations's founders.
