PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES JEANNE P. NATHAN TO THE PRESIDENT'S ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON THE ARTS OF THE JOHN F. KENNEDY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING
ARTS
The President announced today his intention to appoint Jeanne P. Nathan to the President's Advisory Committee on the Arts of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Ms. Jeanne P. Nathan, of New Orleans, Louisiana, is President of Tannathan, Inc., an arts, cultural and economic development consulting firm, with clients including the Alliance for Downtown New York and the City of New Orleans. In previous positions, she has served as Vice President, Marketing for the Alliance for Downtown New York, Executive Director of the Mayor's Office of Tourism, Arts and Entertainment for the City of New Orleans and Vice President of Public Affairs for the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Ms. Nathan developed The Art Exchange, which produces annual arts fairs in Lower Manhattan. Along with her husband, she founded the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, an alternative arts space showcasing the works of living artists.
Ms. Nathan received a B.S. from Cornell University.
The President's Advisory Committee on the Arts of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts advises and consults with the Board of Trustees for the Center, and makes recommendations to the Board regarding existing and prospective cultural activities to be featured at the center. In addition, the members of the Committee assist in the Center's fundraising efforts and act as liaisons to performance groups and performing arts centers throughout the nation.
