PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES SHIRLEY J. HUMPRHEY AS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL

NUTRITION MONITORING ADVISORY COUNCIL

The President today announced his intent to appoint Shirley J. Humphrey to the National Nutrition Monitoring Advisory Council.

Mrs. Shirley J. Humphrey, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, recently retired as Vocational Programs Consultant for the Wyoming Department of Education. During her eleven years at the Department of Education, she also served as a Nutritionist for the United States Department of Agriculture Food Program. From 1983 to 1992, Mrs. Humphrey represented Laramee County in the Wyoming House of Representatives.

Mrs. Humphrey received a B.S. and a M.P.A. from the University of Wyoming.

The purpose of the National Monitoring Advisory Council is to provide scientific and technical advice on the development and implementation of a ten year comprehensive plan for National Nutrition Monitoring and to serve in an advisory capacity to the Secretaries of the Departments of Health and Human Services and Agriculture regarding the enhancement of the comprehensive plan.
