PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES SIM FARAR AS U.S. REPRESENTATIVE TO THE FIFTY-FOURTH SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE UNITED NATIONS

The President today announced his intent to nominate Sim Farar to serve as United States Representative to the Fifty-fourth session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

Mr. Sim Farar, of Los Angeles, California, has been serving on the President's Advisory Committee on the Arts to the John F. Kennedy Center since 1994. He has also served as a volunteer on the California Senate Advisory Commission on Business Insurance and the California Senate Small Business Advisory Board Commission. He is currently President of JDF Investments, specializing in Corporate Development. Mr. Farar is also the President and member of the Board of Directors of IFC Financial Services Corporation, a financial services consulting firm.

Mr. Farar graduated from College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California and attended California State University of Northridge.
