STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

White House Chief of Staff John D. Podesta will speak to the National Press Club on Wednesday, September 1, on science and the budget and tax debate. His remarks will address the impact of current budget and tax proposals on Federal investments in science, research and development, technology, health research, space exploration, and environmental research.

The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. The National Press Club is located at 14th and F Streets, NW.
