PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES DAN HERMAN RENBERG AS MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF

DIRECTORS AT THE EXPORT-IMPORT BANK

The President today announced his intent to nominate Dan Herman Renberg to serve as Member of the Board of Directors at the Export-Import Bank.

Mr. Dan Renberg, of Maryland, is Founder and Principal of a consulting/lobbying firm specializing in developing and implementing federal legislative strategies. Prior to forming his own business, Mr. Renberg was Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff for Senator Arlen Specter. Mr. Renberg managed a 13-person legislative staff and assisted Senator Specter on Federal appropriations, transportation and general business issues.

Mr. Renberg received his A.B. form Princeton University and his J.D. from the University of Virginia.

The Export-Import Bank facilitates export financing of U.S. goods and services by matching export credit subsidies from foreign governments and by absorbing reasonable credit risks that are beyond the current scope of the private sector. In addition, the Export-Import Bank assists U.S. exporters in obtaining pre-export financing by guaranteeing export-related working capital loans from commercial lenders; guaranteeing loans made by foreign buyers; providing insurance assistance to the export community; and encouraging the purchase of U.S. goods through competitive, fixed-rate loans.
