PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES ROGER BALLENTINE AS DEPUTY ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES
The President has named Roger Ballentine as Deputy Assistant to the President for Environmental Initiatives. He will coordinate the Administration's efforts on climate change and on the President's Lands Legacy Initiative, working closely with George Frampton, Acting Chairman of the Council on Environmental Quality.
Mr. Ballentine, of Connecticut, has been serving as Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs. He was previously a partner at the Washington law firm of Patton, Boggs L.L.P. prior to coming to the White House. He has also been Adjunct Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center, and he served as Special Counsel to the Minority in the House of Representatives for the handling of election challenges.
Mr. Ballentine is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Harvard Law School.
