STATEMENT BY VICE PRESIDENT GORE ON TENNESSEE

My heart goes out to the families of my home state of Tennessee who lives were violently disrupted as a result of last night's powerful storms.

Many homes and businesses were destroyed, over one hundred people were injured -- and many families lost loved ones because of the severe winds. Tipper and I will keep the families of Tennessee in our thoughts and in our prayers.

I also ask the American people to join us in praying for everyone in the Plains and in the South who have had to suffer through these devastating winds for three straight days.
