STATEMENT BY THE VICE PRESIDENT

Tipper and I are keeping the students and parents of Littleton, Colorado in our prayers -- especially those who lost friends and children. We know that today's horrible and senseless violence has taken a terrible toll on their lives and our hearts go out to them.

I also want the families of Colorado to know that I have spoken to various local officials there and told them that we are committed to helping them in any way during this difficult time.
