Visit of President Chissano of Mozambique
President Clinton has invited President Joaquim Alberto Chissano of the Republic of Mozambique for a working visit to Washington on November 30. Their meeting will focus on a wide range of political and economic issues, underscoring the importance of our strong bilateral relationship. President Chissano will also meet with other senior Administration officials while here in Washington.
Under President Chissano's leadership, Mozambique has become a political and economic success story. Only four years after a devastating civil war, President Chissano has ensured that Mozambique is making great strides toward lasting peace and stability, democracy and economic growth.
