                ON THE SLAYING OF DOCTOR BARNETT SLEPIAN

Last Friday's slaying of Dr. Barnett Slepian -- while in his home and in the company of his wife and four young children -- was nothing short of an act of brutal terrorism. Regardless of where individuals stand on the issue of abortion, we as a nation must stand together against this ruthless assassination.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of Dr. Slepian.
