              PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES JAMES M. SIMON, JR. 
               AS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR ADMINISTRATION 
                  AT THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY

The President today announced his intent to nominate James M. Simon, Jr. to be Assistant Director for Administration at the Central Intelligence Agency.

Mr. James M. Simon, Jr., of Montgomery, Alabama, is currently Chief, Collections Requirements and Evaluation Staff, Directorate of Intelligence at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Mr. Simon is a career intelligence officer who joined the CIA as an analyst in 1975, after service in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Simon has degrees from the University of Alabama and the University of Southern California, and is a graduate of the Army's Command and General Staff College.

The Assistant Director of Central Intelligence for Administration is the Deputy to the Deputy Director of Central Intelligence for Community Management (DDCI/CM). The Assistant Director of Central Intelligence for Administration assists the Director of Central Intelligence and the Deputy Director of Central Intelligence for Community Management in fulfilling the responsibilities of the DCI as head of the Intelligence Community.
