STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

The President will meet with German Chancellor-elect Gerhard Schroeder at the White House on October 9. The President will review with the Chancellor-elect the broad common agenda between Germany and the United States. The President met Schroeder previously at the White House on August 5 and in Berlin on May 13.
