STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

Visit by Prime Minister Orban of Hungary

The White House is pleased to announce that Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary has accepted President Clinton's invitation to make a working visit to Washington, meeting with the President on October 7. This will be Prime Minister Orban's first visit to the United States since he formed a new Hungarian government in July. The official discussions will focus on Hungary's impending accession to NATO, trade and investment issues, U.S.-Hungarian cooperation in combating organized crime in Central and Eastern Europe, and European security issues of mutual concern.
