STATEMENT OF VICE PRESIDENT GORE

ON SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF TWA FLIGHT 800

On this second anniversary of the tragic explosion of TWA Flight 800, I believe it is fitting that we pause for a moment to remember the victims of this disaster and to pray for their families and loved ones.

We must never let this tragic event fade from our memory. Indeed, we should honor the memory of the Flight 800 victims by renewing our commitment to make air travel as safe as possible and doing everything we can to prevent such disasters in the future.

I am personally committed to improving the safety and security of aviation, and I pledge my continued support for achieving the national goals that we set for aviation in the aftermath of this disaster.
