STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

Working Visit with President Sanguinetti of Uruguay

President Clinton has invited President Sanguinetti of Uruguay for a Working Visit on July 23, and President Sanguinetti has accepted. The working visit provides an opportunity for the two presidents to address a broad bilateral and multilateral agenda, including trade and investment, climate change, education, and cooperation on other matters.

The two leaders will also review the process of hemispheric integration and the steps required to advance implementation of the Santiago Summit Declaration.
