                   PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES SIX MEMBERS
                    OF THE PRESIDENT'S EXPORT COUNCIL

The President today announced his intent to appoint six new members to the President's Export Council.

The following new members were announced today:

Philip Condit of Seattle, Washington, is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Boeing Company.

Lodewijk J.R. de Vink of Peapack, New Jersey, is President and Chief Operating Officer of the Warner-Lambert Company.

Gary DiCamillo of Wellesley, Massachusetts, is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Polaroid Corporation.

John P. Manning of Boston, Massachusetts, is a co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boston Capital Corporation.

Ernest Micek of Edina, Minnesota, is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cargill, Inc.

Jonathan Tisch of New York, New York, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Loews Hotels.

The Council, established within the Department of Commerce, advises the President on matters related to export performance and develops policy guidance to promote export expansion. The Council also provides a forum for addressing significant trade issues affecting U.S. businesses and workers.
