Vice President's Visit to Ukraine for the U.S.-Ukraine Binational Commission Meeting
The Vice President will travel to Kiev on July 22 and 23 for the next meeting of the U.S.-Ukraine Binational Commission, which he co-chairs with Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma.
The U.S.-Ukrainian Binational Commission was formed in September 1996; its last meeting was in May 1997 in Washington. The Commission provides a mechanism for the discussion of economic, trade, and investment, foreign policy, and security issues of mutual interest to the U.S. and Ukraine. The Vice President will be accompanied by senior representatives from government agencies involved in these issues.
