PRESIDENT CLINTON ANNOUNCES MINYON MOORE AS ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT AND DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC LIAISON AT THE WHITE HOUSE
The President today announced his intent to name Minyon Moore as Assistant to the President and Director of Public Liaison.
Minyon Moore currently serves in the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Political Affairs to which she was appointed in February 1997. In this position, Ms. Moore acts as the liaison to the Office of Public Liaison, Intergovernmental Affairs, and the Social Office. Ms. Moore was an active member of the task force that helped develop the President's Initiative on Race and continues to be a leading force behind the Initiative. Prior to joining the White House, Ms. Moore distinguished herself in the areas of voter education, coalition building, and community outreach at the Democratic National Committee. There she served as Political Director and Constituency and Outreach Director. In those capacities, Ms. Moore worked closely with local and state leaders as well as leaders of community groups including the National Rainbow Coalition. She coordinated voter registration efforts with the Congressional and Senatorial Campaign Committees as well as the Democratic Governor's Association and Senatorial Campaign Committees and the Democratic Governor's Association.
Ms. Moore is a native of Chicago, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois at Chicago.
