Tragic Accident During Hajj Pilgrimage

President and Mrs. Clinton were shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic accident at Mena in which 107 pilgrims performing the Hajj lost their lives. Despite this tragedy, we continue to be impressed by the successful measures taken by the Saudi Government to minimize the possibility of accident during one of the most heavily attended holy events throughout the world. The hearts of the American people go out to the families and friends of those killed or injured.
