PRESIDENT NOMINATES TIMOTHY B. DYK TO THE FEDERAL CIRCUIT
President Clinton today nominated Timothy B. Dyk to serve on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Dyk, of Washington, DC, is a partner and chairman of the Issues and Appeals Section of the Washington office of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue. He received his A.B. cum laude from Harvard College (1958) and his L.L.B. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School (1961), where he was a member of the Law Review. Following law school, Dyk clerked for Justices Reed and Burton (1961-62), and Chief Justice Warren (1962-63). After his clerkships, Dyk completed a one-year assignment with the U.S. Department of Justice as Special Assistant to the Assistant Attorney General, Tax Division. Dyk has been in private practice since 1964, first with Wilmer, Cutler, & Pickering, and as of 1990, with his current firm, Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue.
