PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES CURTIS A. PRINS AS A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS FELLOWSHIP FOUNDATION
The President today announced his intent to appoint Curtis A. Prins to serve as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation.
Mr. Curtis A. Prins, of Middleburg, Virginia, was instrumental in the creation of the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation, and was originally appointed in December 1995. Since 1993, Mr. Prins has served as President of Prins Associates, a legislative consulting firm based in Middleburg, Virginia. From 1989 to 1993, he was Staff Director for the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions Supervision for the Committee on Banking at the U.S. House of Representatives. From 1974 to 1988, Mr. Prins was Staff Director for the Subcommittee on Consumer Affairs and Coinage for the Committee on Banking. Mr. Prins received a B.A. degree from the University of Maryland.
The Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation was created to encourage and support research, study and labor designed to produce new discoveries in all fields of endeavor for the benefit of humankind. The Board of Trustees awards fellowships to outstanding individuals, known as Columbus Scholars, to encourage such new discoveries.
