PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES DAVID BARRAM, ANDREW CUOMO, AND RODNEY SLATER
AS MEMBERS OF THE ADVISORY COUNCIL ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION
The President today announced his intention to designate David J. Barram, in his capacity as Administrator of the General Services Administration, Andrew Cuomo, in his capacity as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and Rodney Slater, in his capacity as Secretary of Transportation, to serve as members on the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.
The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is an independent Federal Agency and the major policy advisor to the Government in the field of historic preservation. Its primary responsibilities include reporting to the President and the Congress on the effectiveness of state, local and private programs in carrying out the purposes of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966.
