PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES JAMES CAREW ROSAPEPE AS U.S. AMBASSADOR TO ROMANIA
President Clinton announced today his intent to nominate James Carew Rosapepe to be United States Ambassador to Romania.
Mr. Rosapepe, of Maryland, is currently a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Ways and Means Committee. He also chairs Maryland's Sister State Committee with St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, Russia, which coordinates legal, business and cultural exchanges. Since 1992, he has served on the Board of Directors of the American Council of Young Political Leaders, where he has been active in exchange programs with nations in Central and Southern Europe.
In 1995, the President appointed him to the Board of the Albanian American Enterprise Fund, a $30 million investment fund created by the U.S. Government to promote development of small and medium-size businesses in Albania. Mr. Rosapepe has attended both Georgetown and Yale universities.
