               PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES SECRETARIES ALBRIGHT, 
               COHEN, RILEY, AND SHALALA, AND DIRECTOR WITT 
                   AS MEMBERS OF THE AMERICAN NATIONAL 
                      RED CROSS BOARD OF GOVERNORS 

President Clinton today announced the appointment of Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Secretary of Defense William Cohen, Secretary of Education Richard Riley, Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala, and Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency James Lee Witt as members of the American National Red Cross Board of Governors.

The Board of Governors of the American National Red Cross is the governing body of the Red Cross. The American National Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps the American public to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
