PRESIDENT CLINTON NOMINATES TWO TO THE FEDERAL BENCH

President Clinton today nominated Lynn S. Adelman to be a United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and Judge Jeremy D. Fogel to be a United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of California.

Adelman received his college degree from Princeton University in 1961 and his law degree from Columbia University in 1965. After law school, Adelman served as a legal research assistant before joining the Legal Aid Society as a trial attorney. Since 1968, Adelman has been in private practice and currently is a partner at Adelman, Adelman & Murray. Adelman has also served as a Wisconsin State Senator for the past twenty years.

Judge Fogel received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1971 and his law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1974. From 1974 to 1978, he was in private practice and from 1978 to 1981, he was Directing Attorney of the Mental Health Advocacy Project for the Santa Clara Bar Association Law Foundation. From 1981 to 1986 he was a judge on the Santa Clara County Municipal Court and he is currently a judge on the Santa Clara Superior Court.
