PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES CHARLES VINCENT SERIO AS UNITED STATES MARSHAL FOR THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF LOUISIANA
President Clinton today announced his intent to nominate Charles Vincent Serio to serve as United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Mr. Charles Vincent Serio, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, served as a Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Louisiana from 1989 to 1992, before moving east to become a Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Middle District of Louisiana. Mr. Serio attended the United States Marshal Service Academy, and has completed other specialized training courses. He received a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree from Louisiana State University.
The United States Marshal Service is responsible for providing support and protection for the Federal Courts, apprehending Federal fugitives, operating the Federal Witness Security program, maintaining custody of and transporting Federal prisoners, and responding to emergency crisis situations.
