                    PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES NANCY DORN 
               AS MEMBER TO THE INTER-AMERICAN FOUNDATION

President Clinton today announced his nomination of Nancy Dorn to serve as a Member of the Inter-American Foundation.

Ms. Dorn, of Washington, D.C., is currently a Principal of Hooper, Hooper, Owen, & Gould, a consulting firm. Ms. Dorn was Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works from 1991 to 1993, where she managed the creation and execution of the Civil Works' budget and was responsible for the formulation of environmental policies and strategies. In addition, Ms. Dorn was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Inter-American Affairs where she served as primary advisor to the Secretary of Defense on all matters involving Latin America and the Caribbean. Ms. Dorn received her B.A. from Baylor University.

The Inter-American Foundation is an independent agency that works with private, regional, and international organizations to strengthen the bonds between Latin America and the Caribbean. In Ms. Dorn's new capacity she will be working as a member of the Board of Directors, who are responsible for the governance of the Inter-American Foundation.
