VICE PRESIDENT MEETS ASKAR AKAYEV, PRESIDENT OF KYRGYZSTAN

Vice President Al Gore today met with Askar Akayev, President of Kyrgyzstan. Vice President Gore and President Akayev discussed a variety of bilateral and regional issues, including the importance of continuing political and economic reforms in Kyrgyzstan, US assistance to Kyrgyzstan, and stability and security in Central Asia. Vice President Gore visited Kyrgyzstan in 1993.
